things I know now
Have not been updating my blog for few weeks. I have so many things too write yet, too little time to write. I have many things on my plates at the moment and soon this will come to an end. I hope. For the sake of refreshing my post, I thought of sharing this piece of article from The Star newspaper on 31st July 2005. Maya Angelou's words of wisdom hasn't failed to boost my energy level.
Last April, Oprah interviewed Maya Angelou on her 70th birthday. Oprah asked her what she thought of growing older. And, there on television, she said it was exciting.
Regarding body changes, she said there were many, occuring every day... like her breasts. They seem to be in a race to see which will reach her waist first.
She is such a simple and honest woman, with so much wisdom in her words. Maya Angelou said this;
I've learnt that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.
I've learnt that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles these three things; a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.
I've learnt that regardless of your relationship with your parents, you'll miss them when they're gone from your life.
I've learnt that making a living is not the same that as making a life.
I've learnt that life sometimes gives you a second chance.
I've learnt that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision.
I've learnt that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one.
I've learnt that every day you should reach out and touch someone. People love a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back.
I've learnt that I still have a lot to learn.
I've learnt that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.
DG, there you have it. I need to finish my final pack of analysis now and hope to switch off my black iBook by 5:30 p.m. today. Penat... penat...
